Back to School: Spotlight on Amber O.

Tell us about your back to school prepping at CurtsyGirlsCBC@gmail.com

I was absolutely delighted to spend some time with one of my CurtsyGirls today. We spent a few hours prepping and primping for the first day of high school. Amber’s Mom, Elisa, and sister, Jessica, joined for this quick “before” picture (all three of us had a BLAST).

Amber was DELIGHTFUL! We got to talk about makeup tips, clothes, friends, and hair…but most of all we got to talk about God and the kind of future God wants for us. We got to talk about how specifically God created us – different and special. Here are some highlights on our CurtsyGirls Chatter:

-God made us perfect and makeup is to accentuate that beauty – not to distract from it. We talked about the things we liked most about ourselves and the things we did not like (and thought about ways to appreciate those things).

-How to best work with the texture of our hair. Keys to preparing our hair texture before styling. We talked about the best hair products and how different hair warrants different products. We also tried a few looks with simple steps.

-Perks of pin-up hair. We worked through three different pin-up styles, because Amber would rather be focused on her studies than the distraction of pushing her hair out of her eyes all days. Bonus: She also let me style her hair with end of summer beach waves.

-Eyes wide open about eye makeup. Amber’s skin is STUNNING so she has no need for foundation and concealer. We spent our time together just talking shop about eyes. Check out these beautiful blue eyes!

Amber’s little sister, Jessica O. also got in the mix. Check these pics of this CurtsyGirl-In-Training!!

CurtsyGirls Character Challenge: Beauty is really an external reflection of our internal state. How we treat ourselves and care for ourselves is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves and how much we understand the perfection of our creation. No amount of makeup can ever cover up a woman drenched in gossip, meanness, disrespect (for herself or others), or a bad attitude.
