Stay in Touch for the Summer – Pen Pals

My little CurtsyGirl loves her penpal, Trisha-Jean. Every once in a while, a fun, colorful letter shows up in our mailbox and we are delighted to return the letter with a note back. It is fun to pick stationary, colorful pens or markers, and decide what fun we can share inside of a stamped envelope. Getting a letter in the mailbox makes our day, so why not share that with others?

This year, before school ends, collect a few addresses from your close classmates so you can write letters over the summer. This is a great time to work on written social skills that will last a lifetime!

*Just remember to ask Mom and Dad about sharing your address with others prior to doing so. If they approve, make yourself some “PenPal Cards” that look like this and hand them out prior to your last day of school:

CurtsyGirls Character Challenge: Try to write three notes a week while you are on your summer vacation. Even if you do not receive letters, try to bless others with a delightful written encouragement. Try bible verses, poems or you can just let your penpal know what you are doing with your time in the sun!

Also, for those of you that prefer to add a little special something, keep a summer journal or scrap book. Collect your thoughts, trip details, tickets, names of new friends you make, and more. These memories are priceless!
